The Effect of Low Temperature Treatment at the Different Ripening Stages of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) Seeds on Bolting

Abstract
This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of low temperatures during the ripening of radish seeds on bolting.
Low temperatures (5¡É, 10¡É, 15¡É) were treated during the night from 10, 20, 30 and 40 days after pollination for 5 and 10 days.
The results obtained were as follows;
1. The seeds treated from 30 and 40 days after pollination were more sensitive to the low temperature and showed the higher ratio of bolting than 10 and 20 days after pollination.
2. During the ripening of radish seeds 10 ¡É was more effective than 5 ¡É and 15 ¡É for bolting.
3. There was no significance between the 5 days treatment and 10 days treatment.
